Public Radio East is pleased to announce that beginning Sunday, May 25th we will begin airing Travel with Rick Steves at 10:00am on the News and Ideas Network.  Each
program includes interviews with travel experts, call-ins with questions and comments, and
music. Rick Steves travels extensively across America, Europe and throughout the rest of the world to exciting destinations. With all this travel he brings along with him interesting tips as well as information as far flung as keeping
healthy on the road, bicycling, sabbaticals, pilgrimages, sailing, fear
of flying, and more.

This Week on the Down East Journal... After a tornado wreaked havoc on the community of Bellgrade, the Onslow County Red Cross is coming to the aid of families seeking shelter. And the NC Community College System is changing its policy toward undocumented illegal immigrants. Those
stories and the weekly arts calendar, this week, on The Down East Journal. Fridays at
noon on all of the Public Radio East Stations and Saturdays at noon on the News
and Ideas Network.

history project, was in Eastern North Carolina for 6 weeks recording interviews with area residents. Public Radio East is broadcasting interviews recorded by StoryCorps during its residency. To hear these stories tune to Public Radio East Wednesday through Friday at 6:50 am and 8:50 am. Below are a few stories already broadcast on PRE.
